When everyone can see the email, it’s still easy for the next step to be unclear.
An email gets opened, then the next call comes in. The work is still waiting.
A shared inbox shows everyone the message, but not who is taking care of it.
Clinical concerns arrive alongside bookings, invoices and newsletters.
Following up on who’s doing what shouldn’t be another inbox to manage.
How it works
Try rules and task workflows with examples now. Live mailbox connections are the next step.
Planned: connect Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Today, start with fictional example emails. Live connections and filing processed mail into an archive folder are planned.
Write plain-English rules in the order you want them applied.
See what needs doing, who owns it and why it came to them. Claim, hand over and finish tasks while keeping the thread and history together.
Inside the workspace
Available in the current example-email workspace.
Describe how your practice works in plain English. Ordered rules make the first match count, with a reason on every task.
Staff see their own tasks and their teams’ tasks. A team member can claim work, hand it over with context or mark it done.
The Practice Manager sees every task, overdue work, workload and the needs-review queue, without chasing each person.
Every example email gets a mandatory clinical urgency check before practice rules run. Flagged tasks stay at the top for the doctor and manager.
Replies in an example thread stay with the original task. A reply to finished work reopens it, keeping the context together.
Junk and newsletters are set aside in a manager-visible filtered view. The manager can rescue a message when it belongs in the task list.
Example tasks keep their inbox source visible, so bookings and specialist rooms can be distinguished. Live connections to multiple inboxes are planned.
For Australian healthcare
Built in Melbourne for the people keeping specialist practices running. Data storage and processing stay in Australia.
Retained source messages stay with their tasks. Archiving in a connected mailbox is planned, not part of the current version.
Routing decisions and their reasons are recorded, alongside who changed a task, what changed and when.
Staff see their own and their teams’ tasks. The Practice Manager has the practice-wide view, with access checked server-side.
Least-privilege mailbox access is planned as part of future connections. The current workspace has no access to live mailboxes.
One practice, different responsibilities
See all work in one place. Set the rules, manage the team and resolve tasks that need review.
Oversight without the chasing.A clear queue of personal and team tasks. Claim the next booking or hand work over with a note.
Know what’s yours to do.Find assigned clinical work and your teams’ tasks, with urgent items first and the email thread alongside.
Context when it matters.A few useful answers
Not in this version. Inbox by Akuru sorts, assigns and tracks work; it doesn’t draft or send replies. Staff continue replying in their usual mail client.
No. Email is part of the clinical record and is never deleted by Inbox by Akuru. The current example workspace retains its source messages. Filing processed mail into an archive folder is planned with live mailbox connections, not available today.
The task goes to the Practice Manager as Needs review. The same applies when the app is unsure, so someone is always responsible for the next step.
Connections to Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are planned. Today, the product works with fictional example emails only; no live mailboxes are connected. You can explore routing rules, tasks and the manager workspace with those examples.
Inbox by Akuru uses Foundry services hosted in Australia for storage and processing, including AI. It is built in Melbourne for Australian healthcare practices.
